Environmental & Community Cleanliness

Clean-up drives and waste-management education that restore shared spaces, and keep them restored.

Introduction

What this is about

This work begins with the street outside the door. Volunteers join residents for monthly neighborhood clean-up drives, demonstrate doorstep waste segregation and run composting workshops, so that a cleaned space stays cared for.

The Challenge

Why it matters

Litter returns to places nobody feels responsible for. A clean-up changes how a street looks for a week; a change in habit changes how it is treated for years.

  • Shared spaces shape pride and public health.
  • Segregation at source makes recycling and composting possible.
  • Residents who lead the effort keep it going.
Look closer

Choose a problem. See the way through.

Litter keeps coming back

Streets without a clear caretaker slide back to old habits, however often they are cleaned.

Did you know

A clean-up changes how a place looks for a week. Habits decide how long it lasts.

What helps

Adopt a stretch of street, place bins where people already walk, and keep showing up.

Waste is all mixed together

When wet and dry waste are mixed, recycling and composting both become much harder.

Did you know

Food-soiled paper and plastic are usually difficult to recycle.

What helps

Separate waste at source: wet for composting, dry for recycling. We demonstrate it door to door.

Nobody feels responsible

Shared spaces are often the least cared for, because everyone assumes someone else will act.

Did you know

Responsibility is shared, and it begins with noticing.

What helps

Residents lead the drives with us, so the street feels like theirs.

Our Approach

How we go about it

We work with residents, not around them. Drives are paired with practical habits, such as separating waste at home, so a cleaned space stays cared for.

What We Aim to Do

What we aim to do

Monthly clean-up drives

Volunteers and residents clear a chosen neighborhood together, then plan how to keep it that way.

Doorstep segregation demos

Simple, practical demonstrations of separating wet and dry waste at home.

Composting workshops

Hands-on sessions that turn kitchen waste into something useful.

Awareness on the ground

Conversations with families, shopkeepers and children about everyday waste habits.
